There are many fun things you can do in the summer with your horse. A wide variety of activities are available in most parts of the world for those who are equestrian lovers. Regardless of what time of year it is, even though we are horse 1461220 640discussing summer activities at present, or where you live in the world, there is usually some event or fun ride being held.

There are great equestrian clubs out there; that could a wonderful option and definitely something to look into. If you are a new horse owner it does not matter. You will be welcomed at all of the different events, shows, fun rides, and camping events. To make it easier, I will give you a little more detail about the options for fun things to do with your horse this summer now.

● Fun Rides:
Many places around the world have fun rides at local parks, farms, or trail areas. Look for information online or on flyers or papers around town for dates and times. Basically, the way it works is, you go to the location the event is being hosted at and you make a social day out of it. Other horse owners will be there to talk with about other events and shows, which is fantastic way to get information for future things to do with your horse. Or, you can simply make a peaceful gallop around the trails or park where the Fun Ride is and enjoy the day with just you and your horse. Either way, it is a great way to get out of the house, out of the stable, and have a good time.

● Horse Shows:
If you love competition, grooming, and keeping your horse at show quality then this is a wonderful way to spend some time with your horse. You will have a great time, but your friend will love the attention and the affection that comes along with their special day. There are usually shows once a month in most places, but if you are not sure you can check online or your local feed store and they will be able to help your with the information or at least point you to a pamphlet hung up at the store.

● Equestrian Events:
The competitive itch that goes along with equestrian events and competitions is a thrill for some people; for others, it is just something they have been doing since childhood as a young boy or girl. No matter the reason, it is a great time for you and your horse to be out together. You can make a day or weekend of it and spend time amongst other like-minded individuals who feel the same way you do about those wonderfully, magnificent creatures.

● Camping Weekends:
Think “City Slickers” but with less chaos and a shorter span of time. Camping trips with your horse are an amazingly good time. Your horse will love you for it because it gives him/her the chance to be back within the wild and feeling totally free. Usually, the way this works, you sign up with a group of others who show up at a specified location and you all make a weekend or week of it. Don’t forget to pack everything you need for yourself and your companion.

● Bath and Feed Time:
This can be a great day to share with your horse. I know this sounds silly or simple, but your horse will love the special attention that comes along with a true pampering session. I know we, as humans, like massages and fingers ran through our hair and horses are no different. Have the favorite feed and a few sugar cubes handy and make a wonderful time of it.

This is just a small sample of things you can do to have a great time with your horse. Regardless of what you choose to do, remember to have fun and ensure your horse feels special, like it is his/her own day. Horses have wonderful recognition of what is going on around them. So, the time will be appreciated and love will be shown as a result of it.
